“In order to be irreplaceable one must always be different”
Modelling is short-lived and especially if it's in Ireland.
I have a rather strong aversion for the modelling industry in Ireland, as they seem to struggle to understand what the business is really all about. Of course, there are the rare exceptions, like the girls pictured above. The industry here is almost embarrassing in the way that they don't know what to look for so they go to 'pretty' girls, the ones that should be featured on ads. The 'commercial' models, if at all. Being frank, the models here are tacky, it's just not fashion. It's not that hard to look at other countries and see where were going wrong...were not looking for the right things. But its not just about the looks. The weird, unusual-looking, chiseled bone structure and the bod. It's much more than that, it's the passion and the talent that will get you far along with a likable personality. Sure, the talent is out there I'm not saying were lacking in beauty in this country. Far from it. What I'm trying to say is that the wrong girls are picked and the right ones are sitting at home being awkward and self-conscious.
The awkward thing is everyone thinks it, 'you're an Irish model, fair play..but that's all you'll ever be'. The girls featured above are (to me) the best the country has got. The reason they are so big is because they got picked up by the right person or agency- the ones that aren't Irish. Plus they have all the right assets and an authentic look. Basically they tick all the boxes and I can guarantee you they are going to be big names in the future.
I'm sorry I seem so hostile. I mean, what would I know. #amateurlookbooker
