New album from Perfume Genius

The mesmerising solo artist from Seattle is due to release his second consecutive album in February. Mike Genius uses a piano to back himself whilst singing fragile songs with a damaged-like voice. He sounds poor, his piano sounds old and broken but that's why I like him, there is a certain vulnerability about him. It's depressing music. He sings of dark thing but it's rather enjoyable, happy music is boring anyways. It's as if he sings words from a personal diary, i suppose that's what you are constrained to do when you're 27 and still living with your mother. He sports colourful bruises a lot of the time, all the more dramatic. The emotional impact his music puts on the listener is strong, Perfume Genius is an eccentric artist to say the least.
